They managed it! Who would have dared put their money on the FCI European Section's 2012 Show in Bucharest being such a resounding success? Victim of a smear campaign on the social networks (what power, what strength, often positive but at times also very harmful), the Asociatia Chinologica Romana (AchR) was able to keep a cool head, rising to the challenge and attracting more than 6,000 dogs to the Romanian capital. The AChR was able to leverage the smear campaign against it to promote the show, and the least we can say is that it was very successful in doing so. Congratulations to the whole Romanian team, brilliantly led by Mr C. Stefanescu and Mr P. Muntean.

FCI International dog show held in Seoul on 1-2 September 2012

FCI Seoul International dog show hosted by the Korea Kennel Federation was held at the KINTEX, Seoul, on 1-2 September 2012. 2 days entry featured totally 1,478 dogs of 47 breeds.
Besides Korean judges, prestigious judges including Mr Horst Kliebenstein from Germany, Mr Ricardo Saldana from Mexico, Ms Kakuko Sasa from Japan, Mr Gordon Max Winch from Australia and Ms Betsy Dale from the USA came to join us for these shows. Foreign exhibitors from China, Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, Russia and Thailand attended and hundreds of product booths including pet food & supplies were set up in our events, so it was the biggest dog show of the year in Korea.

On Saturday September 1st, the first day of the show, FCI international dog show and KKF Championship dog show took place. Mr Ricardo Saldana from Mexico judged the Best in Show at FCI International dog show and awarded the BIS to a male Welsh Corgi Pembroke “Bennydale attention please” (KKF WP-08-0001768-ROK).
On Sunday September 2nd, the second day of the show, FCI international dog show and AKU Championship dog show were held. Mr Horst Kliebenstein from Germany judged the Best in Show at FCI International dog show and also awarded the BIS to the male Welsh Corgi Pembroke “Bennydale attention please”.

Invited judges were full of praise for the excellent organisation and management of the dog shows, exhibitors’ great behaviour, organisers’ hospitality and venue’s facility after the show.

Besides the dog shows, the KKF Handling competition and CFA cat show were also organised at the same place. In the event ring, a training session for owners, a quiz about dogs and dog running competition were offered for general visitors and utility dogs have demonstrated its performance to appeal to spectators. At the same time, the “Adopt abandoned animal” campaign was carried out together with local Veterinary Society. A lot of prizes and free samples were distributed to spectators and a big crowd was gathered at dog-related product booths.
These events were widely reported in the press including KBS TV (national broadcast) and totally 15,000 spectators visited the events for 2 days and we are sure that all exhibitors and visitors fully enjoyed our events.
